My 18 year old son (Mitch) and I will be on the island during the Regatta and would like to crew on the same boat(s). We have some experience sailing our own 23’ Catalina sloop on the Fingerlakes in upstate NY and have had recreational boats for many years on a number of lakes. We are both very willing to learn whatever would be required of us before the event but will not have very much actual hands-on racing experience prior to the event. I am a Licensed Marine Captain through the US Coast Guard and am certified to captain a vessel up to 25 gross ton (soon to be increased to 100 gross ton). My son is currently endeavoring to learn to sail/race a 17’ laser.
We’re both willing, healthy and active and look forward to participating in any way we can.
